Ministers visit the Police

On Tuesday the 14th of August 2012, the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and the Minister of Justice Gilbert Licudi, visited the Commissioner of Police and his senior command at New Mole House Police Station for a courtesy visit.

This was Mr Picardo’s first visit to New Mole House Police Station as Chief Minister of Gibraltar, and both ministers were provided with a brief of a number of policing issues, which included the expansion of the Neighbourhood Policing Concept, the creation of a new Safeguarding Unit for vulnerable adults and children, and the modernisation of the policing infrastructure, which incorporated a Command and Despatch Unit.

They were also informed of the current working practices undertaken by Scenes of Crime Officers and the service’s capability of deploying armed response officers from the Dynamic Entry Unit.

The Chief Minister also inspected a parade of recruits, currently undertaking police training at New mole House Police Station.
